The Youth Movement
Remember when we played for fun before there were bids at stake? Me either. But there are still a lot of players that fall into that category, players that are new to the game. Crossroads will be hosting the Colorado AYL, a local organization that is bringing the game of volleyball to children ranging from 5 to 14 years old. This winter, the AYL hosted clinics in conjunction with Nuusky Volleyball Club and The SportsBridge Sports Complex. Watch for the teams playing this Saturday on the Feature Court next to Championship Desk.
The Olympic Movement
On the other end of the volleyball spectrum, we have the volleyball players that so many of us hold as role models, the USA Women's National team. Members of the training team that is working towards this summer's Olympic Games in Beijing will be making appearances at Crossroads both this weekend and next. Look for them in the Mizuno booth this Saturday and on the Feature Court. See more information about their visit on USA Volleyball's website by clicking here.
IMPACT Clinic Reminder
Those of you who have registered for the IMPACT clinics and have yet to pay, please remember that paying before the clinic saves you $20. If you pay at the door, the cost is $60 rather than $40 for prepaid attendees.
Please remember that there will be no walk up registration for the clinics. Those wishing to attend MUST register through Sign Up To Play prior to the clinics.
Oh Say We'd Like To Hear

Our Featured Exhibitor
There's going to be athletes, coaches, and spectators. But there is another important group of people that attend Crossroads, the exhibitors! Who will be in the booths this year? Here's a taste:
Third Degree Sportswear

Third Degree Sportswear, celebrating 20 years of being a leader in the custom uniforms, will be at the Colorado Crossroads (& Big South National Qualifier & Expo). We will selling our newest in printed lycra shorts. Come early for the best selections! Visit us at www.ThirdDegreeSportswear.com.
Daylight Savings Time Reminder
Ever wonder why we have Daylight Savings Time? It was first proposed in England in 1905 but it was not put into use there until 1916. The US didn't come around until 1918. (How long until we use the metric system?) It was originally conceived in an effort to maximize use of summer daylight but the idea of energy conservation soon took the forefront. Recently in the US, DST was lengthened by the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The federal government may choose to extend the legislation or go back to the original dates after completion of a energy consumption study.
Regardless of why it exists, DST will begin on Sunday, March 9th at 2 a.m. That is the second day of play of weekend one of Crossroads. Be sure to remember to "spring forward" that day so you won't miss a play or officiating assignment that day!
